25 Weeks

Seeing that I am now almost at the end of 26 weeks, and have yet to do a chalkboard for this week, I am going to call week 26 a goner.
Here's hoping I get on top of it for week 27!

Week 25 has brought back some morning sickness, but thankfully it's just the queasiness. This week also started with my glucose test. While it wasn't as gross going down as I remember (not to say it's not gross, because it is!), it was a bigger bottle than I thought, and I was feeling pretty sick to my stomach afterwards. My doctor suggested eating something carb loaded when I got home to help soak it up, so I downed a bagel asap. I passed the test with an 83 (passing is anything <=130), so thankfully I won't be doing that again.

I am measuring about a week ahead and the doctor and I talked a little about how big this baby would be. While she isn't concerned about me measuring ahead (she said +/- 2 weeks is normal), Claire was a big baby at almost 9 lbs and 5 days early! She said she would probably have me do another ultrasound around 35 weeks to see how little man is measuring, and if he looks on the large side, she probably wont let me go past my due date.

Here's a fun little comparison: Same shirt, 25 weeks with Claire on the left and 25 weeks with little man on the right. Drew and I both think I look like I'm carrying higher this time.

Yes. I think just this week I felt like "oh wow, my belly is really big. I look really pregnant". Obviously I've looked pregnant for a while, so I must have been in a hormonal denial phase.

Zoo Trip

This post is about a month late too....double oops!

It had a been a while since we had used our zoo membership, so when Drew's sister invited us to go to the zoo with their family, we thought it was the perfect opportunity to get out of the house. We lucked out and got decent weather; cold but not raining!

It turned out to be a good zoo day as lots of animals were out! I feel like I must not have that great of luck at the zoo because normally when Claire and I go, the animals are all hiding.

You can sort see the lions in the background behind Claire and I.

I normally skip the monkey exhibit since they all tend to be hiding, which makes for a rather boring detour, but I am so glad we took the time to walk through it. This guy was just hanging out right up against the window and even sat and looked right at Claire for a while. It amazes me how much bigger they are up close than I would have thought!

We thought about going to see the baby elephant, but then we heard the line was 45 minutes long and they were planning on shutting it down soon, so we decided to skip it and play with the baby elephant statues instead.

As we were headed to possibly see the elephant we ran into this guy! Claire didn't seem too impressed but the rest of us were ;)

And of course, Claire's favorite part, the aquatic animals. This girl could stay and watch the otters and fish all day long if I'd let her.

Bend Trip

This post is about a month late...oops!

After the holidays died down we finally had time to make a trip to Bend for the weekend. Drew and his dad planned on going out snow machining (apparently its not called a snow mobile if your Alaskan) and we figured that it would be a good time to introduce Claire to snow too!

Three hours in the car is a lot for little miss Claire, and since we had to leave after Drew got off work, we couldn't time it with a nap. Luckily she has been fascinated with Drew's new headphones, so we plugged her in and set her up with a Curious George movie and she did great! It was so cute to hear her giggling at the movie from the back seat.

It turned out to be a beautiful weekend with lots of sunshine!

Ready to play in the snow!

This was her face pretty much the entire time. She wasn't afraid to sled but she didn't seem overly excited about it either. Drew started her off on a tiny little hill with no reaction, so by the end he was going down the huge hill with her, trying to get some sort of emotion out of her, but she was playing hard to get.

We left Sunday after church, and poor girl was so tuckered out she feel asleep like this on the ride home. She wasn't too happy when she woke up and her arms were asleep :(

Somewhere I have a few videos from sledding and playing with grandpas train (Claire is obsessed!), so I'll have to find those and post them too.

Thanks Darris and Debbie for hosting us, we had a great time!

Be My Valentine

Here's how we spent our valentines day this year:

-Claire 'helped' mommy frost cupcakes for our valentines, which meant when I wasn't looking she ate all the frosting off of her cupcake.

-Papa and Nana (Claire's great grandparents) came over and dropped off some chocolate for Claire and I. Papa gives his girls chocolates every year :) Claire had a whole piece and was loving it!

- Claire decided to only nap for 45 minutes. I'm guessing this could be from the amount of sugar she inhaled in the morning. Oops!

- We went and delivered cupcakes to grandmas and daddy's work. Claire was the star of the show at daddy's work and managed to get a sticker and a balloon out of Drew's co workers.

- I stupidly took Claire into the pet store to look at the animals. We found a bunch of stinking adorable puppies! Luckily I came to my senses and walked out, but of course not without being suckered into buying a fish that Claire was obsessed with.

- I messed up dinner and called Drew to ask him to pick up some Chinese food instead. Little did I know I accidentally called the order into the wrong location, so Drew had to back track to pick it up. Sorry babe!

Overall a nice crazy day of love for our little family!

Still alive

Despite that fact thats its been almost three weeks since i posted anything, we are actually still alive over here!
I had grand plans of catching up on some posts last week, then Claire and I both got sick and I went on our churches women's retreat over the weekend. Hopefully I'll finally get caught up on posting, and get some weekly updates up before the baby actually gets here ;)

In the mean time, here are some random pictures of my favorite girl!
