Went to the doctor today; 4 cm dilated and 60% effaced. She seems to think the baby could be here any day; hopefully she's right! I had asked if she would sweep my membranes but since I was so dilated she said she was afraid it would put me straight into labor (which I would have been happy with!). She also said since I'm already 4 cm, that once regular contractions start we shouldn't hang out at the house for too long!

Our doctors appointment went great. Baby's heart rate looks good, I tested negative for Strep B, and I was more dilated than I thought!
(I was 2 cm and 30% with Claire at 36 weeks and was Strep B positive.)

Unlike the hospital that I had Claire at, Kaiser does appointments every 2 weeks (they do offer optional appointments if you want to go every week), so I won't be having another appointment until I'm a few days over 38 weeks. Here's hoping little man decides to show up sooner rather than later :)

What just happened??

It's been a whirlwind around our house lately.

Out of curiosity Drew and I sat down with a mortgage lender to see what (if anything) we would qualify for. We talked and crunched numbers and threw around mortgage terms that made me feel like I was too young and inexperienced to be thinking about buying a house.

Then about 2.5 weeks ago we started looking at houses, and tried our best to be patient. We looked at about 4 houses, and we were becoming slightly discouraged. We knew we may have to look at a lot of houses before we found the one.

During a night of major pregnancy insomnia, I spent a long time praying for patience and wisdom. I knew God had the right house in mind for us.

The next day I thought "you should look on craigslist", which seemed weird since everything on craigslist is usually in the MLS system as well, but I felt compelled. Well, lo and behold there was a for sale by owner, not listed in the MLS system that was posted on craigslist, with what seemed to be everything we were wanting.

We emailed our amazing realtor/Aunt and asked her what she thought. She called us back and said we could see it the next day! Drew and I were both hopeful going in but tried not to get our hopes up since we have seen some nice pictures, that ended up being trashed houses.

And we loved it.

People kept saying to us "when you find it you'll know", and it was true. We knew.
We love the layout, the yard, and the fact that there is room for improvement so we can DIY and add equity the house.

We called my parents and asked them to take Claire for the night since it was her bedtime and we originally thought we would just be heading home after the house showing (Thanks Mom and Dad!!), then headed over to Vicki's office to write up an offer.

Drew and I both kept saying to each other "We're crazy!" and "Can you believe we're doing this?", because really, what better time to buy a house than when you're 9 months pregnant??

So, long story short, we submitted an offer, got a counter offer, and accepted! Pending the inspection next week, we will be moving mid July into this baby:

A 4 bedroom, 3 bathroom house in Sandy. We could not be more excited and thankful for God's provision and the support for our family!
