I can't believe I have a two year old!
To say these last two years have flown by would be an understatement. It's crazy how having Hunter really puts into perspective how grown up Claire is getting!
At her 2 year well check she was weight in at 28 lbs (68th percentile) and measuring 3'1.5" (99.7th percentile). She's still a tall and skinny girl (her weight to length ratio was only in the 9th percentile)! The doctor said she looks very healthy and is meeting or advanced in all her developmental areas.
-Claire LOVES her brother! She is always asking to kiss him or hold him. Our biggest problem so far, is that we often have to remind her to give him a little breathing room :) She is always very concerned about him when he is crying (she likes to tell him "shh! go sleep, go sleep!) and wants to make sure he is in the same room as us at all times.
-This girl is a talker! It seems like every day her vocabulary gets more and more advanced. It's so funny to hear her tell Drew and I stories; we usually understand about every other word. Whenever we are in the car she really turns into a chatter box! She points out everything she sees and is not satisfied until you repeat it back to her.
-She can count to 10 when she wants to, but she often prefers to count by 2's instead, or count to 3 and then skip to 7. Silly girl.
-We are still working on our colors. She can consistently name orange, pink, purple, and black, but we're still working on the other colors.
-Claire's favorite activities are jumping, playing outside with water, watching Curious George or Justin Time, riding her little Barbie quad, and coloring. She prefers to color with markers, but after she snuck a ball point pen and took it to the couch cushions, her marker time has been much more limited/supervised.
-Claire is wearing a mix of 2T and 3T clothing and a size 7 shoe. She is so long and lean that we still have a hard time keeping jeans on her, as she has no hips to keep them up! It's typical to see her pants sagging and diaper hanging out :)
-Favorite Foods: Chicken Nuggets, Annie's white cheddar mac n cheese, watermelon, smoothies (this is how I sneak her veggies in!) applesauce, and of course a "george snack" (fruit snack) for a treat. We've been working really hard on Claire eating what the rest of us are eating for dinner and I am happy to say it is getting so much better!
-She is still not showing much interest in potty training. I'm thinking if she doesn't start showing more interest by Christmas (2.5 years old) then we may start pushing the idea more.
Our typical daily routine goes like this:
Wake up between 6:30 and 7:00 am
Snack around 10:00 am
Nap time usually goes from 11:00am-1:00pm
Lunch after naptime
Dinner as a family around 5:30pm
Bath time at 6:30 pm
In bed at 7:00 pm
We love you Miss Claire! Daddy and I are so proud of the little girl you have become and we can't wait to see what the years bring.
