Little Blue Truck

Hunter got "The Little Blue Truck" book for Christmas from my Aunt and Uncle and their two girls. We've read it with him a few times, but Claire soon fell in love with it and has proceeded to steal it from his bedroom.

We knew that we had read it with her quite a few times, but it soon became apparent that we had read it more times than we originally thought, when we found Claire quoting almost the entire book word for word to us.

Here's a video for proof! She gets tired of reading about 3/4 of the way through, but you can still tell she knows it pretty well. Drew and I were completely shocked that she had memorized so many lines!

Easter 2014

The kids are settled in bed after a sugar high, and I am actually getting a post done on time!

We had quite the eventful start to our Easter Sunday. Drew was playing in the worship band at church, so he drove himself to church early. I did the mad rush to get us all out the door on time by myself, and was feeling pretty good that we were running on schedule. I decided to take the back roads into church, and about half way there I hear Claire say "Mommy, I don't feel good. My tummy hurts!"

Oh. No.

The back roads are a bit curvy, so I slow down and roll her window down a bit. She tells me she feels better. Whew, thank goodness!

As we're pulling into the church parking lot, I hear her moan, cry, and then proceed to vomit all over herself, her car seat, and the empty seat next to her. She starts to cry and I feel like joining her. I try calling Drew, but since he is practicing with the worship band his phone goes to voicemail. So, I call my parents (who luckily haven't moved yet) who live down the street, and my dad says to bring Claire over. I try to wipe her and her carseat down with wipes, and I proceed to strip her down to her undies as discreetly as possible before putting her back in the car.

We get to my parents house, and hatch a new plan. My mom, being the best grandma in the world, tells me she'll stay home and play with Claire while the rest of us go to church. Thankfully Claire didn't throw up again and had a blast getting to have some one on one time with grandma.

After church I picked up Claire and we luckily made it home with no more vomit!

Since my parents are in the process of moving out of their house, while their new one is being built, we offered to host Easter dinner at our house. Hunter went down for nap and I asked Claire if she would like to nap, to which I heard "No, I'm not tired!". Since I thought it was best to monitor her anyways I stuck her on the couch with the kindle while I cleaned. I soon realize it's pretty quiet over on the couch, so I look over to see this:

Sweet little girl fell asleep on the couch, kindle still in hand. So much for not being tired ;)

We had a great time with my parents, brother and grandparents. We let the kids open their easter baskets, ate dinner, and let Claire have a little mini easter egg hunt in the backyard.

The cheesiest smile ever!

Someday, we will get a picture where everyone smiles! I am determined!!

Claire got a little bubble gun, that blows the bubbles for you when you pull the trigger. Not only was it a huge hit with her, but Hunter seemed to really enjoy his first bubble experience :) This series of pictures just cracks me up!

Claire insisted on wearing her leggings and pink crocs with her "twirly dress". I even tried to talk her into tights earlier in the day, but she was determined to wear these darn leggings. Oh well...

10 Months!

Hunter has been on the move and keeping us busy all month. Seriously, he never stops moving!

-Hunter started pulling himself up last month, but now he is officially a pro at it. He pulls up on everything and will even stand holding on with just one hand. He's started to cruise around the furniture too.

-The stairs....oh the stairs. If Hunter had his way he would climb the stairs all day long. One day we forgot to close the gate. One second Hunter was behind me in the kitchen, then I turn around and he's halfway up the stairs, giving me a total heart attack!

-It was a bit of a rough month, health wise for the little man. Right before his 9 month appointment, Hunter got pink eye, then we got that and his cold cleared up in time for his appointment. At his appointment the doctor let me know that now he had an ear infection, so it was antibiotics for us. Then just last week, he spiked a fever of 102 for a couple days, but I think that may have been due to some nasty teething. I think Hunter if finally feeling better, even though we are still waiting for the teeth to pop through.

- We've entered the 'I love mommy' stage aka stranger danger. It's so weird to see the sweet little guy who would smile at everyone and let anyone hold him, become shy and cling to his mommy, but I know it's a normal stage for his age. And I can't say I mind the extra love from him :)

-Hunter is still a great eater, and has actually come to prefer the food that we are eating, to eating any sort of purees. He's actually to the point he will become upset if he doesn't have real food that he can feed to himself.

-We're sleeping again! We had about a week of off nights, and early morning wake up calls, but the past week and half or is back to sleeping through the night and a normal 6:45-7am wake up time. Thanks goodness!
