38 Weeks!

38 weeks and still pregnant! Drew and I were headed off to our friend Aaron's wedding before this picture, otherwise you can mostly find me in sweatpants and baggy t-shirts these days :)
How far along?
38 weeks 1 day
Maternity Clothes?
Yes, and of course some of Drew's clothes around the house, in a desperate attempt to be comfy ;)
Sleep:
I'm usually trying to sneak in a nap whenever the kids go down! Drew wakes up around 4:30ish most mornings to go to the gym before work, and I seem to have the hardest time going back to sleep after that.
Miss anything?
Stomach sleeping and getting up off furniture without having to roll off of it!
Movement?
Oh yes! He continues to be VERY active
Food cravings?
No
Queasy or sick?
No
Started to show?
I think my belly picture says it all ;)
Labor Signs?
Still lots of braxton hicks and some irregular contractions
Belly button in or out?
Out
Wedding rings on or off?
Off and replaced with my fake band until baby arrives!
Mood?
I'm feeling a lot better than 2 weeks ago patience wise. At our doctor appointment on Friday I was at 3cm and 70% effaced, and I was thrilled to at least know that my contractions were making some sort of progress! My doctor seemed to think that little man will come this week, but I am pretty doubtful of that. Our induction is scheduled for next Tuesday, August 4th in case he hasn't made his appearance by then. It's crazy how just knowing a definitive end date can set your mind to rest. Obviously if he decided to come before then we would be more than thrilled, but right now we are enjoying our last week together as the 4 of us!

36 weeks

We made it to 36 weeks! After our preterm labor scares at 28 and 32 weeks, there was times I wasn't sure if we would make it this far. We are so thankful that our little man has stayed put until now. It's crazy to think that if we were to go into labor again, they wouldn't try and stop it this time!

We had an appointment on Thursday and had a growth ultrasound done. Since both kids were large (8lbs 13oz, and 9 lbs) and were born before their due dates, the doctor wants to make sure we don't have a huge baby where we could risk shoulders getting stuck, etc.... Right now baby is measuring about 6.5 lbs, which puts him around the 60th percentile. His head on the other hand is measuring 39 weeks already; lucky me. I'm only dilated to 1cm and about 30-40% effaced. I am feeling a little disappointed with that since with Hunter I was already 3 cm and Claire I was already at 2 cm, but trying not to let it bum me out. I'm hoping for more progress by my 38 week appointment, so that hopefully labor will be quick!

How far along?
36 weeks 1 day
Maternity Clothes?
Yes! It's been insanely hot the last few weeks (95 degrees +), so I've taken to living in maternity tanks and cotton skirts.
Sleep:
Still struggling with some pregnancy insomnia and leg cramps, but it's slowly getting better. I do tend to sneak in a half hour nap these days while the kids nap in the afternoon.
Miss anything?
Regular clothes!
Movement?
Yes!
Food cravings?
Long story, but I became obsessed with these popsicles from Costco. They are so delicious, and after Drew and I polished off a box of them in about a week (oops!) I sent Drew back to get more. Apparently everyone else liked them too because both Portland and Clackamas Costco were sold out!

Queasy or sick?
I've had some queasy-ness return, but nothing too terrible :)
Started to show?
oh yes! You know you're big when you can feel everyone staring at you as you walk through a store/restaurant/etc....
Labor Signs?
Lots of random contractions, some consistent, some not. They usually go away within an hour or so.
Belly button in or out?
Flat
Wedding rings on or off?
Off; it finally got too hot and made my fingers swell up a bit.
Mood?
Feeling pretty impatient for our little guy to get here, but also a little in denial that we will soon be a family of 5!

Claire's 4th Birthday: An Outer space Adventure

I'm a week behind (of course!) but last weekend we were able to celebrate Claire's 4th birthday with an outer space party!
This was the first year that we did an all friends party, rather than just a family party with a few friends. With Claire being in preschool this year, and actually having more friends her age it seemed like the perfect year to transition that way. I think she actually liked it more because her birthday lasted almost a full week as she was opening presents randomly throughout the week when family members saw her ;)

Of course it was forecasted to be the hottest day of the summer so far (101 degrees) for the day of her party. Thankfully it stayed slightly overcast, so although it was muggy, it wasn't too terrible to be outside! We filled up the pool and let all the kids splash around.

She had such a great time, and was especially excited to see her friends from school since it had been about a month since they had all been together! She woke up the morning after the party and asked if all of her friends could come over for another birthday party again that day!

Earth cookies and star shaped PB&J!

Strawberry, marshmallow, and cantaloupe 'rocket ships'
I filled the space themed goody bags with pop rocks, glow sticks, and outer space erasers!

Happy 4th birthday sweet Claire! I can't believe how fast these four years have flown by!
